Centre for Social Work is a public social welfare institution where individuals, couples and families can seek help in a variety of life situations.
Help can be provided in the form of a one-time conversation or a series of multiple conversations. It can be focused on getting general information and guidance about the opportunities for help inside and outside of CSD or on advice and guidance through your concrete and specific issues or problems. CSD is entrusted with different tasks and responsibilities in the field of adult and senior care:
- Helping individuals solve everyday stresses and problems
- Assisting individuals in arranging a retirement home service or home help
- Utilizing the right to financial social assistance, compulsory and supplementary health insurance, income support, rent subsidy, funeral payment and bereavement payment (to claim each of the rights individual conditions must be met)
- Utilizing the right to exemption from payment for retirement home care (if your pension does not cover the costs of retirement home care, CSD starts a special procedure to arrange a surcharge paid by your children, contractors and/or the municipality where you have a registered permanent residence)
- Helping individuals who cannot decide about their rights and benefits due to their health conditions (area of regulations on custody relationships) and cooperating with the court in that regard
- Helping victims of domestic violence and victims of crime
- Assisting people with disability to regulate their status of person with disability at the age of 18, helping arrange the assistance and attendance allowance, support in procedures relating to recognition of rights to a personal assistant, communication allowance, family assistant
- Helping people with mental health problems
